Nicole Longstreath (a.k.a. “Mackenzie Fox”) began her interior design career with a dream and a not-so-dreamy job at Home Depot cutting vertical blinds and selling wallcoverings.
She would go on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Interior Design from the Art Institutes of California – Orange County while she worked full time in a design center for new home buyers. Working on 100% commission, she designed and sold over 450 kitchens and bathrooms while putting herself through school.
Shortly before graduation, she got an opportunity to work for two ultra-high-end interior designers, designing lavish homes for Orange County’s elite.
Upon graduation, she was recruited into commercial design where she met her husband, Jason.
After two industry lay-offs in 2008 and 2011, she turned a passion project into a business and launched a wardrobe styling brand, The Wardrobe Code. It was with this business that she learned the power of digital marketing.
Using email marketing, social media, and podcasting, she took The Wardrobe Code from local styling to a global brand.
In 2016, a she experienced a major and abrupt shift in her spiritual beliefs and began practicing intentional creation with positive thinking (otherwise known as “law of attraction”).
This shift caused her to reexamine her life’s trajectory and, after some time spent in introspection, she adopted the pen name Mackenzie Fox.
Mackenzie lives in Costa Mesa with her husband and German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, Zoey. She is currently working on two fiction projects and loves spending her time hanging out with her family.
